Life after Death

After her father’s passing, Maggie decided now was the time for a fresh start. She took her inheritance and left Dublin behind.

“Goodbye Dublin, Hello Sunset Valley!”

Maggie in Sunset Valley

She was able to find a house to her liking and within her price range. Since she was new and was not sure if she would find a job right away, she wanted to make sure she had enough cash to hold her over.

“I sure hope this move was the right choice. Once my inheritance runs out, I will be fully be on my own.”

Maggie's new home

Maggie’s first encounter with the townfolk happened to be the paper boy, Skip Javeed. She inquired to him if he knew how she might be able to find a job in the political career, as her childhood dream was to be leader of the free world. He told her she might have luck with the newspaper.

Maggie searched the paper but with no luck for a political career today. She did not mind since she just moved in anyways, she was tired.

Job review

Time to rest and watch some TV.

“Ooh the History Channel, my favorite.”

Since Maggie also happens to be a couch potato (from her father’s side) she really enjoyed watching TV.

Rest is history

As she peered through the window, she contemplated one more time whether this was the right thing to do.

Was it right to leave Dublin so soon after her father’s death? Will she be successful enough to encourage the rest of her family to join her in Sunset?

“I sure hope this was the right thing to do. I know my father would want me to follow my dreams; oh how I  miss him.”

Hello! Nice first attempt. Keep updating, I’m sure you’ll gather a handful of fans pretty soon! :) Good luck!

Nice beginning! I’m intrested to see how the story gets going :) But is it ok if I give you a hint? (If it’s not ok, just skip the next sentence XD) You could take more pictures where she’s in action, not just standing – and it also makes the pictures more lively if you zoom a little so that we can se her different faces etc. :)
There are several blogs that could be very interesting stories, but I just can’t get into the feeling, ’cause all the pictures are taken like from a mile away and you can hardly discern a distant silhouette of a person XD Ok, I’m just exaggerating and not talking ’bout your blog :D
I’ll come back to check this out! ^_^ Happy blogging & simming!

Thank you for the suggestions. I do not mind them at all. I want this to be an enjoyable story and any criticism is welcome. Like I said, this is my first attempt at this whole thing and I want it to succeed. Thanks again. (Im off for two days but have a funeral to attend Monday…I will absolutely try to have more photos and blogs up real soon!)

I agree with the camera zoom. Sometimes, if I’m not able to get quite close enough, I have been known to crop pictures on my own blog to get the right effect. In earlier shots of my toddlers, I often would take shots of things going on in the room in general, but then would later spot one kid in particular doing something that needed to be focused on. So, I’d crop all but the one child out of the shot.

In one of my latest posts (The River Bree and Lake Elle), I took a shot of Elle, cropped it, and then used the whole shot for effect. If I had used the whole shot first, it would just not have had the effect I wanted.

Is it possible for you to set your screen resolution higher without making your game play too difficult? Originally, I had mine set to game default. When I started seeing the beautiful shots of other blogs though (Alice and Kev in particular), I toyed with my settings. I’m on highest settings now (not easy on some laptops), and you can really see the difference in pictures from my earliest posts to my latest.

I invite you to come over and check out my blog (link above). Also, Kansine is also really good. One of the best at pictures showing emotions is Samantha (her story, Mitsy Kelder’s Tale, is on my blogroll, as yours is now also).

Thanks for inviting us to stop by, and I hope to be back soon! :)

Thanks for mentioning me XD Yeah, I agree, Samantha is great with pictures! Always the exactly rigt time and right zooming.
And yes, the game makes it difficult to zoon on toddlers :( But the cropped pictures work! I’m usually just too lazy to adit my pictures, when I’m bad at it anyway XD
I also had a very slow resolution to start with, then I noticed that it looks a bit annoying in the pictures (and some other had so awesome pictures!) so I switch it to a little bit higher, but I don’t dare to put my resolution on maximum, ’cause I’m playing on laptop and sometimes there’s anyway some problems with the game, even if it runs better than I had ever expected!
